It is October 31, 2023. Lucio finishes making Rocío's costume for the Halloween fashion show. Alexa arrives from Buenos Aires from a merengue class, not the dance, merengue... merengue. Isabel dreams of going on a trip to Egypt. And Quique has to extract Uncle Alberto's heart. They are all cousins. And they have one thing in common: cracks in their hearts. They are incapable of falling in love. Nothing earthly can solve this condition. A fantasy comedy that surprises and excites, questioning the beautiful and incongruous reasons for love and the whims we inherit.
Es el 31 de octubre de 2023. Lucio termina de confeccionar el traje de Rocío para el desfile de Halloween. Alexa llega de Buenos Aires de un curso de merengue, no el baile, merengue... de merengue. AURORA (2021)
This is the story of Aurora, an extravagant Uruguayan writer, winner of the Pulitzer Prize, who spends day and night reading, locked in a single room for five years. Only her younger sister, Sofia, visits her. Without warning, two characters show up and come to interrupt her routine: Betty, a humble and curious young woman who comes to clean the house, and Teo, a tormented young man who comes from Boston to ask her to review his creative writing work. A tragicomedy that raises philosophical reflections on talent, life, art and time.
La obra refleja la historia de Aurora, una extravagante escritora uruguaya, ganadora del Premio Pulitzer, que se pasa día y noche leyendo, encerrada en una sola habitación desde hace cinco años. Sólo la visita su hermana menor, Sofía. Sin aviso aparecen dos personajes que vienen a interrumpir su rutina: Betty, una joven humilde y curiosa que viene a limpiar la casa, y Teo, un joven atormentado que viene desde Boston para pedirle que revise su trabajo de escritura creativa. Una tragicomedia que plantea reflexiones filosóficas sobre el talento, la vida, el arte y el tiempo.
PETIT HOTEL EUROPA (2020)
The year is 1927 in the Kingdom of Kichik Bir, a European country that in some unknown dimension did exist. Polina is the owner of the Petit Hotel Europa, located in a poppy´s field, and is in financial difficulties to maintain it. There are fewer and fewer guests, but tonight a very varied and diverse group of visitors begins to arrive. The hotel is full and the entanglements and confusions unfold when the pieces of this two-act comedy begin to fit together. 1977 in the same Hotel, 50 years later. Rocky, Polina Amapola's cousin and nephew, tries to reopen the Hotel that has been closed all this time, but he has to take care of it before doing a “cleaning.” Several characters join this act where paranormal events will cause mysteries to be revealed. A FARSE PLAY ABOUT LONELINESS, DESIRES, DECISIONS, THE PASSAGE OF TIME AND DREAMS. 18 characters, written to be played by 6 actors.
Corre el año 1927 en el Reino de Kichik Bir, un país europeo que en alguna dimensión desconocida supo existir. Polina es propietaria del Petit Hotel Europa, ubicado en un campo de amapolas, y se encuentra en dificultades económicas para mantenerlo. Cada vez hay menos huéspedes, pero esta noche comienza a llegar un conjunto variopinto de visitantes. El hotel está repleto y los enredos y confusiones se despliegan cuando las piezas de esta comedia en dos actos comienzan a encajar. 1977 en el mismo Hotel, 50 años después. Rocky, primo sobrino de Polina Amapola, intenta reabrir el Hotel que estuvo cerrado todo este tiempo, pero tiene que encargarse antes de hacer una “limpieza”. Varios personajes se suman a este acto donde sucesos paranormales harán que los misterios se develen.

"El que suscribe no es crítico teatral ni dramaturgo. Pero tengo una especial afición por el teatro y su historia en nuestro país. Creo que es uno de sus grandes activos culturales de las viejas y nuevas generaciones. He seguido de cerca la carrera de Leticia Scottini en los últimos años y estoy muy impresionado por sus dotes escénicas, su vocación docente y su creatividad artística como dan cuenta las obras teatrales que se recogen en este libro. Leticia descubrió su vocación artística muy joven. Luego de estudiar en la “Escuela del Actor”, comenzó a trabajar en los escenarios del teatro independiente del Uruguay. Continuó perfeccionándose en variadas técnicas vinculadas a la actuación escénica y muy pronto fue reconocida por instituciones internacionales que la enriquecieron en su vocación teatral y la invitaron a actuar en sus salas. En su carrera escénica nacional tuvo destacadas actuaciones en personajes como Hedda Gabler, Constelaciones, Un Picasso, Gloria, BitchBoxer entre otras. Es fundadora del Teatro “El Telón Rojo” y actualmente es directora del mismo. Su docencia es de gran calidad y genera una atmósfera de trabajo profesional que aprecian sus estudiantes. Su versatilidad en lenguas, escenografía y técnicas de actuación enriquecen su capacidad de dirección. En este libro se recogen una nueva faceta de su creatividad. En los textos hay movimientos, piruetas, desplazamientos en el espacio que los hacen particularmente atractivos al público. Igualmente, interesante en sus obras es la presencia de la naturaleza y la música.Es igualmente atractivo el juego de lenguaje y el disfrute de las palabras que a veces abordan otros idiomas, otras realidades y las propias expresiones de la cultura popular. Todos estos elementos hacen del diálogo algo muy teatral en el mejor sentido de la palabra, pero al mismo tiempo estas facetas fecundan su acción como docente y captan lo mejor de los actores. La carrera de Leticia es muy rica, y tiene mucho para dar en la actuación y en la creación dramática. La versatilidad con interacción de drama, actuación y docencia le dan cualidades que continuará desarrollando en su futuro. En todo caso tenemos una personalidad rica, sensible, alerta a las realidades que nos toca vivir y profundamente entregada a la actuación y a la creación artística. "The undersigned is not a theater critic or playwright. But I have a special fondness for theater and its history in our country. I believe it is one of its great cultural assets for the old and new generations. I have closely followed Leticia Scottini's career in recent years and I am very impressed by her performing skills, her teaching vocation and her artistic creativity as reflected in the theatrical works included in this book. Leticia discovered her artistic vocation at a very young age. After studying at the “Escuela del Actor”, she began to work on the stages of independent theater in Uruguay.
